Film extrusion: energy-efficient smoothing process
Blown film producers also benefit from the high energy efficiency of the process. The reason for this is the patented Reifenhäuser position of the smoothing system in the blown film line. Unlike other processes on the market, the smoothing system in EVO Ultra Flat is integrated directly in the film haul-off which offers the best process-technology conditions for smoothing. It means that the film has not yet fully crystallized and is at the right temperature for a moderate stretching. With methods that start later in the process, the film must first be reheated to the required temperature.
Measurement system for precise flatness control
The correct setting of the process parameters during blown film production is crucial for the flatness of a film. With the EVO Ultra Flat system feature, the desired effect can be set for different raw materials and film thicknesses. In this case, the speed and temperature of the four tempering rolls and two nip rolls are controlled independently. The Ultra Flat Measurement system patented by Reifenhäuser provides manufacturers with reliable and reproducible support when calibrating the line. The laser-assisted inline measurement system reliably determines the flatness value and assumes the precise setting of the parameters during ongoing production to obtain a perfectly flat film.
