Reifenhäuser family supports the social commitment of “Troisdorf hilft e. V

Social responsibility

The Reifenhäuser family is once again demonstrating its commitment to social projects in the region by supporting the local aid project “Troisdorf hilft e.V.” with a donation of 5,000 euros. The non-profit association, which has been coordinating help via Facebook for over five years and has been officially registered since the end of 2023, has developed into an important social contact point in Troisdorf through personal commitment and community support.

The “Troisdorf hilft” initiative was born out of a moving incident: Kadir Sucuoglu, from Troisdorf and later founder of the association, became aware of a single mother's call for help on Facebook, asking for expired food for herself and her children. His quick response and the solidarity of his circle of friends made it possible to help the mother immediately with three moving boxes filled with donated food. Today, the association has around ten volunteers, including members of Sucuoglu's family. They regularly pack food donations, which are distributed every fortnight on Sundays after the service at the Protestant church. Special attention is paid to the homeless, for whom food is put together that can be consumed without much effort.

Direct support within our community has a very special power. When people see that their donations directly benefit their neighbors or other members of the local community, it creates a whole new level of solidarity and willingness to hel

The willingness of Troisdorf residents to donate is particularly evident when “Troisdorf hilft” stands in front of the local Edeka supermarket in Frankfurter Straße or in Spich and asks passers-by for donations for the needy. The association has also opened a store in Kölner Straße 1, which was originally only intended as a warehouse. Here, donated items of clothing are offered in a second-hand store with a feel-good atmosphere for 2 to 3 euros to cover the rental costs.

Bei ihrem Besuch vor Ort betonte Ute Reifenhäuser, wie notwendig es ist, an die Bedeutung solcher Vereine zu erinnern, gerade weil die Zahl der Hilfsbedürftigen stetig steigt.

Kadir Sucuoglu would like to see more conscious donation behavior: no expired food or torn clothing, as sorting takes a lot of time. The association also provides support with administrative matters, such as filling out applications or obtaining entitlement certificates for the food bank. The donation from the Reifenhäuser family will initially help to cover the rent and running costs of the store. This will enable “Troisdorf hilft” to continue its valuable work and be a social contact point for those who need support the most.
