Reifenhäuser family donates €5,000 for a photovoltaic system for SV Kriegsdorf

Social responsibility

SV Rot-Weiß Kriegsdorf (SVK) is turning to solar energy: thanks to numerous donations, the soccer club has been able to install a photovoltaic system on the roof of its clubhouse. The Reifenhäuser family of entrepreneurs contributed €5,000 to the project in order to promote sustainable energy supply and ease the strain on the club's finances.

Representing the family, Andrea and Jonas Reifenhäuser visited the club grounds together with Bartolomäus Bibiela, the SVK's second chairman, to inspect the completed installation. The new photovoltaic system consists of 26 modules with a total output of around 11.7 kilowatt peak (kWp) and an expandable energy storage system with a capacity of 15 kilowatt hours (kWh). This will enable the club to cover a large part of its electricity requirements itself in the future.

With about 550 members - including over 300 children actively playing - SVK is one of the largest soccer clubs in Troisdorf. Through regular investments, the club is modernizing its sports facilities, thereby providing the basis for athletic and social club life on and off the field. For larger projects, the club also relies on support from donations. Club officials are committed to sustainability and energy efficiency.

“Thanks to the generous donation from the Reifenhäuser family, we were finally able to realize the long-planned photovoltaic project,” says Bartolomäus Bibiela happily. “The energy requirements for our clubhouse and floodlight system are among the biggest cost factors. With the electricity we generate ourselves, we save around 200 euros per month and at the same time switch to climate-friendly operation.”

Andrea and Jonas Reifenhäuser also emphasize the dual benefits of the investment: "The SVK offers a great range of sports activities for Troisdorf, especially with its dedicated youth division. That's why we were happy to respond to the call for donations for the photovoltaic system. We are delighted that this will reduce energy costs in the long term and allow more budget to be allocated to sporting activities. At the same time, the project is making an active contribution to climate protection."
